“It is better that two should be together than one, for they have the advantage of their society. If one fall, he shall be supported by the other: woe to him that is alone, for when he falleth, he hath none to lift him up.” (Ecclesiastes IV 9, 10)

Why Join

Error and vice are present in the world today under the pretexts of freedom of thought and necessary recreation, endeavoring to excite a revolt of the intellect by the rejection of dogmatic truth, which inevitably leads to rejection of the moral law and the obligations it imposes.

All faithful Catholics have the duty and obligation to oppose camp to camp, organization to organization, society to society; and unite under the banner of truth and virtue. Only through a strong devotion to the Sacred Heart can we overcome the problems ravaging society, and it is for this reason that we come together as a devotional group and strive to:

  • Reestablish the reign of Christ in society.
  • Venerate, adore, and to make reparation to the Sacred Heart of Our Lord.
  • Participate in the abundant graces He promises to those who practice this devotion.
  • Achieve holiness of life.

Before enrolling, please read the obligations and benefits of the group.

Obligations

Members of the Sacred Heart Devotion Group who seek to venerate and adore the Sacred Heart of Our Lord and who strive to practice this devotion must have a desire to make reparation for the neglect, indifference and ingratitude of the majority that results in Jesus Christ being left alone, abandoned and forgotten on our altars, never visited to offer consolation for such neglect.

To fulfill these obligations of consecration and reparation, there are specific devotions that must be followed which does not bind under pain of sin1:

  • Receive Holy Communion frequently with the intention of making reparation
  • Go to confession and receive the Eucharist on the first Friday for nine consecutive months
  • Attend Eucharistic Adoration once a month
  • Pray the litany of the Sacred Heart as a group each month
  • Pray the novena to the Sacred heart each month
  • Offer daily acts of reparation
  • Continually study and deepen your knowledge of the Sacred Heart

Notes:
1 The phrase ‘does not bind under sin’ means that if you do not fulfill the obligations, it is NOT a sin, not even a venial one. Of course you miss out on the graces and blessings that would have come through your prayers.

Benefits

  • Gain deeper knowledge of and union with the Sacred Heart
  • Help achieve holiness of life
  • Obtain countless graces
  • Various plenary and partial indulgences
  • Unite your prayers and intentions with those of your fellow group members
  • Submit prayer requests to the group
  • Receive regular communications with relevant information related to the devotion of the Sacred Heart

The Twelve Promises of the Sacred Heart

Our Lord Jesus Christ made these twelve promises to those who honor His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a French nun, whom he called “the Beloved Disciple of the Sacred Heart” and the Heiress “of all Its treasures,” in the 1670’s. They show us how much he cherishes this devotion.

Considering that the blood that redeemed us at Calvary came from His Sacred Heart and that so much love and light still exude from it, we can easily understand why! These promises were revealed in one of many private revelations that Jesus gave St. Margaret Mary. Our Lord promised the following:

*  *  *

  1. I will give them all of the graces necessary for their state of life.
  2. I will establish peace in their houses.
  3. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
  4. I will be their strength during life and above all during death.
  5. I will bestow a large blessing upon all their undertakings.
  6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source and the infinite ocean of mercy.
  7. Tepid souls shall grow fervent.
  8. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
  9. I will bless every place where a picture of my heart shall be set up and honored.
  10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
  11. Those who shall promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be blotted out.
  12. I promise you in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who communicate on the First Friday in nine consecutive months the grace of final penitence; they shall not die in My disgrace nor without receiving their sacraments; My Divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.
